9-13 including AVENUE Q
10. From your least favorite musical.
I'm choosing my favorite song from my least favorite musical. I think it's fair to say that I can't base my least favorite musical on a show I've never seen. The broadway shows I have seen include: Avenue Q, Spamalot, Lion king, Spring awakening (equity touring cast and non equity touring cast) Wicked and I saved the absolute worst for last. TARZAN. This musical was awful. From the first five minutes I knew it was going to be awful. It didn't even last a year on broadway and for good reason. Just thinking about it brings the memories of peeling chest hair flowing back into my mind. So without further ado
Tarzan: You'll be in my Heart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ajp9UHDrBDs
This song is really important to me and I wish that the stage could have done it justice.
11. From the musical which made the most impact on you.
This one is easy. Hands Down It's gotta be.....Wait lets take guesses. Try and think of what it is and then scroll down

Avenue Q: The avenue Q theme song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PpwLq0cIlk
Ok story time fatties. When I was in New York with my high school class my Mom came as a Chaperone! I was sooooo excited to be in new york with my mom. I can not tell you how special it was to me that she got to come. One problem: My most beloved musical at the time was avenue q. We were alotted a bunch of free time to see any musical we chose. Well I would of killed and pillaged 1000 villages to see this show. It was so difficult. I stayed up at night planning and conspiring how I could get away from my mom to see this show. (I don't mean to sound horrible. Really. But a musical featuring full on puppet nudity and sex not to include the F bomb being dropped, that alone was reason enough to make my mother hate it.) So it's the day that I have to put my plan forward and go see this show. Well there was no plan. I still had no idea what I was going to do and I was freaking out. I was getting dressed for the day when my phone rings. It's my mom.
Scott's Mom: Scott I'm not feeling at all well. Walking all over Manhattan has really hurt my legs and back. Do you think you could pal around with a few friends today?
Scotts Mind: FUCK YES OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
Scott's mouth: Oh um uh ...well...I mean...I'm ....sure I could...well...uhh...you know find someone to hang out with. I'm terribly sad that you aren't coming out today
Scott's poker face
Scott's mind OOOOOHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHH
Scott's Mom: Well maybe I could just take some pain pills and we can ....
Scott's mouth: NO NO THAT'S FINE.. I mean......rest up....we see wicked tonight after all.
Click.
I started dancing around my apartment room with my shirt unbuttoned and my pants to my knees. It was glorious. Never before did I feel that much excitement. I practically booked it to TKTS to get those tickets. I remember my friends were all nervous because we were all 17 and didn't think they would give it to us but I knew if there was a will there would be a way. Everyone decided that sense I was biggest I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. The guy in front of me was done. My palms were sweaty but I walked right up to the guy selling, looked him dead in the eye and with my biggest macho 18 year old voice I said
Four for Avenue q please.
Then the most miraculous thing happened. He handed me the tickets just right after I paid. Don't judge me but I swear on my whole life I had one single tear falling down my cheek.
Skip forward a few hours.
I get inside the theater take my seat and wait in pain torture and agony for the next fifteen minutes. All of a sudden the lights dimmed the guy came on and said the shpeal about exits and phones and what not and then I heard it. The opening note of the theme song. 3 notes in my body basically convulsed with emotion and happy fuzzies everywhere. I was shaking. I was crying. It. was. awesome. Probably one my top 3 list of best musical theater experiences of my life.
If you think this is a big deal just think about when I saw Spring Awakening for the first time. That's a story for another time.
